JUDAS PRIEST's 'Painkiller' Spotlighted In 'Mars Attacks' Podcast

This month's edition of the "Mars Attacks" Classic Albums column focuses on JUDAS PRIEST's "Painkiller" album.

Written comments about "Painkiller" from an assortment of people— including former JUDAS PRIEST lead singer Tim "Ripper" Owens; the album's producer, Chris Tsangarides; Kirk Windstein of CROWBAR and DOWN; Jason Bittner of SHADOWS FALL; and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal of GUNS N' ROSES — can be found on MarsAttacksRadio.com. The podcast portion of the column contains additional comments from Doro Pesch; ICED EARTH's Jon Schaffer; legendary drummer Gene Hoglan (FEAR FACTORY, DEATH, TESTAMENT, DARK ANGEL, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD); HADES lead singer Alan Tecchio and former MEGADETH guitarist Glen Drover.

Released in 1990, JUDAS PRIEST's 12th album, "Painkiller", was recorded at Miraval Studios in Brignoles, France, and was mixed at Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, the Netherlands. It was the first LP to feature PRIEST's current drummer Scott Travis following the departure of Dave Holland.
